Performance by Zal Sissokho – Grand Master of the Kora
Zal Idrissa Sissokho, an exceptional Senegalese artist, is a modern griot and kora virtuoso. Singing in Malinke and Wolof, he honors the tradition of the Mandé Empire. He has joined the Quebec artistic scene, collaborating with artists such as Richard Séguin and Cirque du Soleil. In 2020, a project with Caroline Planté, fusing kora and flamenco guitar, earned him several distinctions, including an ADISQ award and a Canadian Folk Music Award.
